Narrowing down what Rook backstory I might want to play and I'm torn between Mourn Watch (bc the crypt baby story is too fascinating), Antican Crows (because, well, I like them and there's a lot of angst potential in a Crow), and Shadow Dragons (specifically a Vashoth Mage for that one. I think a Tevinter military family adopting a mage Vashoth child as an enormous middle finger to the Qun is a good starting point.)

NOW. and it's not, like, the solo flute or lute tunes you tend to hear elsewhere, it's a full band, it could be a part of the soundtrack, but I have the music off, and it scares me

Ivy clears her throat as she approaches the swordswoman. Her heart is racing. Her father... her family used Emblem Lyndis for their own gains, and the Emblem forgave her family so easily. Granted, her blasphemous act of impersonation was not as sinful as trying to kill the Divine One and regicide, but...

Dragons, it's still embarrassing to think of all she did while borrowing her name. She could never live up to her image, yet she still paraded it around. Wrangled chickens; harvested vegetables; served alcohol; and even seduced a criminal as "Lyndis".

She's prayed for forgiveness, but perhaps it's time to confess.

If only she had found the courage and time to do so sooner before they embarked.

With a neutral expression that never betrays her true emotions, she speaks when she approaches her. "Em—" Ivy clears her throat. "Lady Lyn. You do not know me, but I heard of your... deeds. I grew up listening to them." She pauses. Calm down.

"While investigating rumors of a conman impersonating you in Faerghus some months back, I was mistaken as you. I was unable to convince the village otherwise, so my only course of action was to... impersonate you."

Hand over her heart, Ivy bows her head slightly. "I apologize for my actions and any trouble they might have caused you. And for impersonating you. It was unbecoming of me."

Lyn had once wondered how Eliwood might feel were he to run into little Roy. After spending enough time at the Officer's Academy, she no longer has to wonder what it feels like to have no memories of someone, but for them to have intimate knowledge about you.

The information gap is more awkward to traverse than one might expect.

One such person stands in front of her: a woman who can't be much older than Lyn herself telling her that she "grew up listening to her deeds". These 'deeds' of hers, of which Lyn could probably guess what they may be referring to, had only happened a precious few years ago. Yet to someone else, these had been childhood stories.

The woman, who in another life Lyn would have simply and affectionately referred to as Ivy, approaches her like a sinner to confession. Lyn is no priest, but she listens to the confession all the same.

So this women is one of the many people who had taken on her name. Lyn had been troubled at the time that people had been running around under her name, but that all feels so far away now. She, too, had been accused of being a fake, but it's a touch more personal when you truly are the person in question; even more so when that same language had been used to disparage you for your heritage. That had been several years ago, though, and Lord Hausen had quelled any rumors that she was not of Caelin's blood.

...No, more importantly, why is she telling Lyn this?

"I appreciate your candor, but it's alright. You had no other choice, right? If you have to use my name, I'm glad it was for the sake of dealing with a swindler." Lyn smiles and offers her hand; a recourse for her guilt. "You're right that I don't know you, but that can always change. Would you mind telling me who you are?"

so. im watching playthrus of totk, so far none of them have gotten to like. the story ending, but rt's youtube uploads have gotten a lot of the story told and like.

is it just never. specified how zelda is a descendent of rauru and sonia?

like, its clear the intent is that shes their great great great (etc) granddaughter, as she has both of their powers within her but like.

as far as i can tell theres no references to them having even one kid. just like, hidden away somewhere before either of them died.

it kinda sounded like raurus sister, mineru did live, even after zelda did her whole thing. but then she wouldn't have sonias time powers?

like, its far from the most important detail, and I can think of plenty of reasons why perhaps any kid(s?) of theirs would be kept out of all the war stuff. but like. it just seems like such a small oversight to just. not even have an offhand mention of them having a kid.

this is gonna be hard I'm in so many fandoms lol I'm gonna try to be diverse. Also this is super long

1. Eritav (Homestuck)

OUGHHH where do i start with these 2. Ok so tavros is my fave troll so naturally during the period i was reading Homestuck a lot i stared having dreams about him. And for some reason one time Eridan was also there so i was intrigued and looked into their ship tag on AO3 and found the best fic ever with like the best characterization, writing etc... Before i literally didn't give 2 shits about eridan but it made me love his character as well. It's called "Black sails, Black romance" by mtjester and it's about Tavros and Eridan developing a kismesissitude(which is basically hate love, for those that don't read hs). The reason i put a pic of them down there as moirails is because i can honestly see them in any quadrant, despite them never talking in canon.

For moirallegiance, i feel like it would start out rocky but eventually develop into something better. Tavros would actually be allowed to speak his mind and develop more confidence since i dont think Eridan would shut him down constantly like Vriska, as Eridan is desperate for his quadrants to actually work. And Eridan would obviously benefit from having someone to keep his ass in line.

I can see them developing into matesprits later from that as well.

And as for kismesissitude, well it's already getting too long and i already gave a fic rec for it.

2. Toxic4Toxic/Socket/Rocket x Sinedd whatever they're called (Galactik football)

Must i say anything. They give each other undiscovered mental illnesses and are horrible for each other and i love that for them. Rocket is my favorite character and so his arc in season 2 was most interesting to me, which includes his relationship with Sinedd. I feel like they could have done more with them in s2, but i already made a post about that.

3. Hinadam (Super Danganronpa 2)

AHHHH THEM. Contender for fave rarepair of all time and fave Danganronpa ship overall. Best fics on ao3. 0 fandom toxicity surrounding them. Should be shipped more than k0mahina. Is more canon than k0mahina(I'm gonna get torn apart for this opinion but idc!!!)

like the entire freetime events with Gundham ends with him letting Hajime hold his hand, which he never let ANYONE do due to his touch aversion. He never develops a relationship this strong with anyone, not even Sonia who is his friend in the game. Hajime is the only person he feels safe and comfortable letting down his walls with due to Hajime's genuine effort to understand him better and be his friend. It's genuinely touching to me idkk i think i cried a bit first time i saw it. I'm not going to go into spoilers but good god man...the chapter ....if you know you know

and also in the island mode ending, Gundham asks Hajime if he wants to live a quiet life with himself and his animals. How is this not shipped more they're literally so in love it's not even funny

And NO i do not ship it because gundham is the best character and Hajime is the character i relate to most. but that could be part of it

Fun fact a childhood song of mine called Erase The Underground (undertale fansong) just. Straight up used rainboe factory's music and i never knew so when i listened to RF i got the biggest jumpscare of my LIFE

The last movie i remember watching fully was Howl's moving Castle bcz my sister forced me and i enjoyed it even though it's not one of my favorite ghibli movies or anything. It was cool

There's nothing im really focused on atm but i have a list on my pinned. The big ones i would say are Adventure Time and MAR (for nostalgia purposes). I'm also watching the justice league cartoon but tbh I don't really enjoy it that much despite people saying it's great. It just doesn't hit the same heights as BTAS or have as enjoyable of a superhero team as LOSH 2006. To me. But idk maybe it gets better later

Sorry I left this in my inbox for so long 💜anon. I actually hadn't read that lesson yet by the time you sent it, and I remember rushing to read it because of this ask, but then I just didn't reply. . .big oops. And thank you so much for such kind words!

Obviously, because it's a game, they can't leave MC for dead. I have a couple thoughts on this.

Solomon would absolutely lose his shit if MC dies. At that point in the game, he's probably the character who adores MC the most. I don't think he could mentally accept MC dying, so he has to do something.

If MC died, and their soul was capable of being harvested (because who knows what weird rules the Fountain of Knowledge has over it), Thirteen would take MC's soul right then and there. Her affection for MC combined with the desperation of Solomon and the others might persuade her to keep MC's soul safe while they try to figure out how to bring MC back to life. Solomon is determined to find a way (and to a slightly lesser degree, the brothers are too).

Furthermore, as shady and mysterious as Nightbringer is, I don't think he would put MC on a path that would kill them, especially not before he gets his way, so there's got to be a way to revive them. Solomon is certain of that much. (also, are we all okay with the potential that Nightbringer is Barbatos?)

Ultimately, I think it would shake out a few ways. The first two kind of lean towards a deus ex machina resolution: either Michael steps in and has the power to save MC (similar to what he did with the waking them from the coma in lesson 13) or Nightbringer has enough power either course-correct time and fate because he miscalculated or his intention was to kill MC and bring them back to life - assuming he has that power available to him somehow (some ancient spell lost to time, probably).

The other way is that the Fountain of Knowledge isn't human made, so Solomon still can't reverse the curse affecting MC on his own. However, the game is always bringing up not intervening with humans and the balance between the 3 realms, so what better way to resolve the issue than for all three realms to intervene in the life of one human? I think that means one representative of each realm needs to step in.

Solomon will obviously be there to represent the human realm. I think because (obey me original game spoilers) Simeon falls in the present timeline, he's the least risky candidate to be involved with something like this, so Solomon would ensure that Simeon took on the task (I think Luke would offer if he knew an angel was necessary and that it was the only way to save MC). Additionally, Simeon is stronger than Luke, so that helps. The demons would probably all be fighting to be the one to save MC. (And Diavolo may be as underhanded as to mention that fallen angels might not count as representatives of the demon realm - which would just be a messy argument. Meanwhile, Barbatos and Mephisto don't want Diavolo to do something so reckless).

I think Solomon would ask Barbatos to do it. For one, the pact makes it so that he can force Barbatos's hand. Second, Solomon won't risk MC over a technicality (fallen angel vs natural demon), so he won't ask Asmo to do it - and he sure as hell won't let Lucifer do it. Third, Barbatos showed him the Fountain of Knowledge when he was younger. In a way, he feels like Barbatos is slightly to blame, and Solomon wants him to take some responsibility. Thirteen may also have to get involved because she's a reaper.

I don't have any concrete ideas on this, but maybe with the right spell, the right magical item, and magic channeled from all three realms, Thirteen could help force MC soul back into their body and bring them back to life.
